Idalia Gutiérrez is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator. She is a Spanish teacher and Class of 2028 advisor at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois. Idalia serves on the district Culture, Climate, Equity, and Belonging Committee. Idalia previously taught middle school dual language for 10 years and mentored new educators. She was named a Golden Apple Scholar (2005). Idalia earned a BA in Spanish and French studies, MA in English as a second language and bilingual education from Dominican University, MA in school leadership from Northeastern Illinois University, and is pursuing a PhD in curriculum studies at DePaul University.
