Leathia Hardy-Williams is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Michigan Policy Fellow and serves as a Model Teacher and 8th-grade English language arts instructor at the Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences in Detroit. She has led grade-level teams and organized enrichment opportunities, including a multi-day Historically Black Colleges and Universities College Tour and Me, She, We, which is a student empowerment and mentorship program designed to build identity, leadership, and sisterhood among young girls of color. Leathia served as Process Champion for Capturing Kids’ Hearts and a school liaison for Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement. She was awarded the Aspiring Leaders Fellowship. Leathia is a licensed Michigan Realtor and Midwestern Regional Tours Consultant for The Motivational Foundation, helping students gain exposure to college and career pathways. Leathia earned her bachelor’s in communication sciences and disorders from Michigan State University and MEd from Walden University, with a specialization in reading and literacy.
