Colin Haverkamp is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Colorado Charter Policy Fellow, and 8th grade science teacher and teacher leader at DSST College View Middle School in Denver. He creates, supports, and implements science curriculum, as well as manages multi-tiered support systems for 8th graders. Colin has been grade-level team lead, department chair, curriculum coordinator, his school’s curriculum and instruction director, and panel facilitator, providing data-based instructional recommendations to the Denver Public Schools’ school board as a member of the African American Equity Task Force. He has collaborated with partners developing curriculum and hands-on science opportunities for students, including Audubon Arizona, The Freedom Systems Center for power systems engineering at Arizona State University, and the biochemistry department at Denver University. Colin began his career in Arizona as a 2008 Teach for America corps member. He holds a bachelor’s in biology from the College of Wooster and master’s in secondary science education from Arizona State University.
