Heather Moore is a physics teacher and science department chair at Robert E. Lee High School in Fairfax County Public Schools. Heather is passionate about the power of collaborative teams; she leads a team of teachers across nine FCPS schools in designing and implementing a reformed physics course. Heather has also sought regional collaborators with whom she designs and differentiates high quality IB physics instruction. Heather is actively engaged as a teaching fellow with the Knowles Science Teaching Foundation, a national network of science and math teachers focused on the professional development and leadership capacity of early career teachers. She has presented work on teacher collaboration, a patterns approach to physics, and standards-based grading at national meetings with KSTF, American Association of Physics Teachers, National Science Teachers Association, and Virginia Military Institute. Heather previously taught physics at Clear Spring High School in Clear Creek ISD, Texas, where she was the physics team leader. She graduated from the College of Wooster with a BA in Physics.
