Helena Henderson is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Illinois Chicago Change Agent. She is the STEM coach and K-8 STEM preparatory teacher at Charles Evans Hughes Elementary in Chicago. Helena has been an Instructional Leadership Team member at multiple schools, where she led STEM initiatives, mentored teachers, and developed engaging, hands-on science curricula for diverse learners. She was recognized as a Science Teacher Leader through Chicago Public Schools’ Professional Learning Committee, selected to present at Skyline Professional Development Summits, and honored for her leadership in organizing schoolwide STEM exhibitions. Helena is a member of the National Science Teaching Association and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. She earned her BS in elementary education with a concentration in reading from Chicago State University, MS in curriculum and instruction from National Louis University, and MEd in educational leadership from Concordia University.
