Allanna Henton is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellow. Allanna is an English Language Arts teacher at Ivory Intermediate School in Camden, Arkansas. She focuses her time on implementing social-emotional learning (SEL) into her curriculum on a daily basis. She focuses on representing her coworkers in her role as PPC Chairperson, Arkansas Education Association member, and building representative. She previously served as the school social worker at Camden Fairview Middle School. Her role as a school social worker directly led to her decision to enter the classroom as a teacher and teach SEL along with the required academic courses. She also served as a Novice Support Teacher in 2022-2023. She serves in her community as a community advocate, small business owner, and member of several local nonprofits. She earned her BA in social work at Southern Arkansas University, an MS in human services at Capella University, and a postgraduate certification in human resource management from Capella University.
