Mary Catherine Holcomb is a 2025-2026 Houston Policy Fellow. She is a Literacy Interventionist for grades 1-5 and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support Coordinator at KIPP Connect Primary School in Houston. Mary Catherine develops foundational literacy skills for students—including those with dyslexia—through individualized plans and small group lessons. She spent one year in Tokyo and three in Milan, where she taught at international elementary schools and served as teacher representative and assessment coordinator. Mary Catherine was chosen as keynote speaker at the 2024 Milan International Teacher Association conference, presenting on the importance of building relationships with students. She earned her BA in mass communications from Nicholls State University.
