Jaycie Homer is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus New Mexico Alumni Policy Fellow. Jaycie is a 6th grade teacher leader, department head, and technology mentor at Sixth Grade Academy in Lovington, New Mexico. Since beginning her teaching career in Lovington, she has taught media literacy, career and technical education, and ELA enrichment, among others. Jaycie was named a highly effective educator and nominated for secondary teacher of the year. She received her Language Arts, TESOL, and Information Systems Coordinator and Technology Coordinator on her Level III New Mexico Public Education Department license. Jaycie began her teaching career in New Mexico as a freshman business teacher and 9th grade girls volleyball coach. She earned her BA in science and teaching credential from University of the Southwest as well as an MA in education technology and administrative credential from Eastern New Mexico University.
