Rebecca Hooper is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow and is the Science Coordinator of Professional Development and Instructional Programs for the Laurel School District in Laurel. She provides professional development training for science teachers K-12 and has served as a science department chair for Laurel High School, Science and Engineering Fair Coordinator, and a presenter at various teaching conferences across the nation. She is National Board Certified, has taught various sciences at the 9th-12th grade level, and provided support to science teachers K-12. She earned her BS in Biochemistry from California State University – San Luis Obispo, a credential in chemistry, and an MEd in Curriculum and Instructional with a focus in science education from the University of Texas at Arlington.
