Laura Hosfeldt is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow, and English/speech teacher and college and career services advisor at Vienna High School #13-3 in Vienna, Illinois. She is a Shawnee Community College adjunct instructor and coaches her school’s Speech and Debate Team. Laura was the National Council for Teachers of English’s Secondary Teacher of Excellence (2019), Illinois Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships’ (ILACEP) Dual-Credit Teacher of the Year (2025), and has won more than $2.5 million in grants. Laura is a National Board Certified Teacher in English/Language Arts for Adolescence and Young Adulthood. She earned her BS in secondary English education from Southern Illinois University, MAEd in higher education administrative services from McKendree University, dual-credit teaching specializations in English and speech/communications from Eastern New Mexico University, and EdS in curriculum and instruction from McKendree University. Laura is pursuing her EdD in curriculum and instruction.
