King T. Houston is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Colorado Policy Fellow. He is a 2nd grade special education teacher leader and case manager at KIPP Northeast Elementary School in Denver. King oversees the coordination of individualized education programs while providing targeted math and literacy instruction. He previously taught K-5 grade special education and served as a correctional officer. King was Student Government Association President at Williamsburg Technical College (2010–2012), received the Tom Joyner Foundation Scholarship (2019), was nominated as a Colorado Teacher of the Year (2027), and is a member of the 2025 Teach For America corps and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. He earned an AA in general business from Williamsburg Technical College and BA in business administration with a concentration in management from Benedict College.
