Avery Hower is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Senior Policy Fellow and an Assistant Principal at Jim Thorpe Area High School in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. Avery is the coordinator of the Jim Thorpe Olympic Games, which includes track and field events for students with exceptionalities across Carbon County. She earned a BS in early childhood education (preK-4) and special education (K-8), MA in special education with a concentration in applied behavioral analysis, special education supervision certificate from East Stroudsburg University, and principal’s certificate from American College of Education.
