Faniqua Hughes is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and the Equity and Opportunity Coordinator for the Diversity Equity & Inclusion Department at Rockford Public School District in Rockford, Illinois. She focuses on student & staff voice through listening sessions, student and adult belonging, professional development, and affinity groups. She began her education career as a teacher in early childhood education. She formerly served as a part-time instructor for Highland Community College and Rockford University. Faniqua was named Distinguished Alumni from Highland Community College and Certified Community Action Professional. She earned her BA in human services from Judson University and an MEd in early childhood education from the University of Phoenix.
