Tyler Hunt is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow and a fifth-grade teacher at Georgetown Elementary in Aurora. She sponsors an afterschool STEM club and serves on the school wide equity engagement team. Tyler received a micro credential in racial and social justice organizing from the Illinois Education Associations’ Leaders for Just Schools Level I Cohort, coauthored the Illinois Muhammad Ali and Martin Luther King, Jr. commemorative holiday tool kit for educators, and facilitated teacher workshops unpacking the Contributions of all Faiths Law for the state of Illinois. Tyler is a member of the education task force for the Illinois Muslim Civic Coalition and a National Education Association representative assembly delegate. She earned her BA in Elementary Education, MEd in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on teaching diverse learners, and an English as a Second Language endorsement from Aurora University.
