Jake Hamilton is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow who teaches 6th grade English Language Arts at Uplift Luna Middle School, where he has also been the 7th grade ELA teacher, team lead, and a functional skills teacher in a self-contained, special education classroom. Jake is recognized as a TIA exemplary teacher, was selected as ULMS’s teacher of the year, and was part of the team that received the district’s highest award for exemplary student growth and proficiency across all subjects. Jake graduated from Samford University with a BA in English, received his MAT in special education from Marian University, and his EdD in educational leadership from Dallas Baptist University.
