Rabiyatu Jalloh is a 2024-2025 Philadelphia Affinity Group Network Facilitator and is an 11th grade English teacher at West Philadelphia High School. Rabiyatu is passionate about recreating and reimagining educational spaces where Black girls feel affirmed, healed, liberated, and loved. Rabiyatu served as an educator with the Restorative Justice Initiative, where she contributed to the curriculum development and implementation of writing courses at correctional facilities in Centre County, Pennsylvania. Rabiyatu created the Writing Through Social Justice course and developed three multi-session professional developments. Rabiyatu is an international slam poetry champion and was awarded the 2023 NCTE Early Career Educator of Color Award. She received her BS in education and public policy and BA in African American studies from Penn State University. She earned her MS in education, culture, and society from the University of Pennsylvania.
