Jamal Easley is a 2021-2022 Pennsylvania Senior Policy Fellow has over a decade of experience working with youth in Chicago, Houston, and Philadelphia. He has used media/film, poetry, and history to inspire student voices. In particular Jamal is experienced in working with children who have experienced trauma or violence, and is passionate about using Social-Emotional Learning as a tool to address social justice and equity. As a black male educator, Jamal feels called to this work. As part of the first group of Teach Plus PA policy fellows, he helped start the #choose2teachPA campaign to increase teacher diversity and raise awareness about the lack of black teachers in PA. He has recently started working with the Facing History program team supporting schools with equity and justice work.
