Christye James is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow, and a 2nd-grade teacher and K-2 department chair at Moorhead Central School in Moorhead, Mississippi. Previously, she taught kindergarten and 4th-grade English at Ruleville Central Elementary School. Christye completed the Mississippi Teacher Residency as part of Cohort 1. She is a docent and former ambassador for the BB King Museum. Christye earned her BS in biology from Alcorn State University, MA in secondary education from Delta State University, and specialist degree in curriculum and instruction from Delta State University.
