Jason Appel is a Teach Plus Rhode Island Teaching Policy Fellow, and a high school math teacher with twenty-one years of public school experience. He spent his first eleven years in New York City middle and high schools, and the last ten at Barrington High School in Barrington, Rhode Island. Jason completed a two-year FuseRI fellowship with the Highlander Institute, where he worked to scale blended and personalized learning across the state of Rhode Island. He has presented at iNACOL, The Blended and Personalized Learning Conference, Tech and Learning Live, and numerous other education technology events around New England. Jason earned his BS in mathematics from the University of Oregon, and his MA in secondary mathematics education from New York University.
