Jason Feriend is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Change Agent Teacher Leader. Jason teaches middle school diverse learners at Joyce Kilmer School in Chicago. He is a mentor teacher and a member of the instructional leadership team. He was nationally recognized as a Health and Wellness Champion and is a recipient of the Preparing Leaders in Urban Public Schools grant. Jason is an alum of the Chicago Teaching Fellows and is currently working towards his certification as a Curriculum Adaptation Specialist. He holds a BA in Communication from Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, an MA in Curriculum and Instruction Specializing in ESL Instruction from the American College of Education, and is pursuing an MA in Special Education Leadership at the University of Illinois – Chicago.
