Jay Mehta is a 2020-2021 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow. Jay teaches Advanced Argumentation, Advanced Communication Studies, and co-teaches 10th grade English at Wheaton North High School in Wheaton, Illinois. Jay sponsors the Speech team and Youth and Government club. Jay collaborates with his colleagues to revise the 10th grade English curriculum to represent and incorporate under-represented voices. He has led professional development sessions in China to teach English as a second language and advised student teachers entering the profession. Jay acts as a Building Representative for his school in the Wheaton-Warrenville Education Association. He graduated from Bradley University with a BA in English and Secondary Education, and earned his MEd in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University Chicago.
