Jaycie Homer is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus New Mexico Policy Fellow. Jaycie is a 6th grade media literacy teacher, student council sponsor, and technology mentor at Sixth Grade Academy in Lovington, New Mexico. She focuses on teaching children in the areas of career and technical education, digital citizenship, and digital literacy in order to foster their vocational skills and translate those to a professional environment. Jaycie has received awards for highly effective teacher ratings in 2016 and 2017. She was awarded for coaching Science Olympiad event Game On, and is in the process of earning her National Board Certification. Jaycie earned her BA in Science with an emphasis in education from University of the Southwest, Hobbs, and an MA in Educational Technology with a TESOL endorsement from Eastern New Mexico University, Portales.
