Laura “Jeannie” Penrod is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Nevada Senior Policy Fellow in her 17th year of teaching in the Clark County School District. Jeannie teaches English at Southwest Career and Technical Academy and is a dual credit instructor for Nevada State College; she has taught Special Education, ELL, and Freshman Studies. She is currently part of the Teach Plus SEL Change Agent Fellowship in Nevada. She has served as a mentor to new teachers, served as a Project Based Learning Coach, and as a National Honor Society, Key Club, and Student Council Class advisor on her campus for 13 years. Jeannie holds a BS in Communications with a Public Relations Emphasis from Cal State University Bakersfield and an MEd in Special Education from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
