Jennifer Acevedo is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow and a founding Kindergarten Bilingual Teacher at Yes Prep North Central Elementary in Houston. Jennifer is a 2019 Teach for America Houston corps member alum and a co-founder of Kindle, a virtual longitudinal program aiming to address reading and health literacy needs among students, which was selected as a recipient of the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship grant. As a member of the Aulas sin Fronteras (Classroom without Borders) program, she has partnered with teachers in Mexico to provide intercultural experiences for her students. She obtained her BA in Psychology from Pomona College, where she was awarded Senior Thesis with Distinction and contributed to many research projects through the Cultural Contexts, Adolescent Health Behaviors, & Development Research Lab.
