Jennifer Lopez is a Teach Plus California Teaching Policy Fellow who teaches 6th grade history at Nueva Esperanza Charter Academy in San Fernando. At NECA, she serves as the girls’ soccer coach, student council advisor, and the induction and alumni teach project mentor. Jennifer has presented at several conferences across the country, including the California/Northwest World History Association Conference, the Learning Disabilities Association Conference, and the ECET2 Los Angeles Conference. She has also participated in summer teacher travel groups to India, China, and Japan. In 2015, Jennifer worked on Educators 4 Excellence’s Teacher Policy Team that wrote “One School of Thought: Moving Towards the Common Core.” She received her BA in International Development Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles and an MAT in Social Studies Education from Duke University.
