Jillian Jacobs is a Teach Plus Greater Boston Teaching Policy Fellow. She is a 9th grade mathematics teacher in the Bridge Academy (ELL program) at Chelsea High School, where she is a new teacher mentor. Since 2012, Jillian has served the school’s multicultural club advisor, working to minimize the effects of social dissonance that immigrant students experience. She began her teaching career at Douglas High School, a suburban school in central Massachusetts. Jillian is dual-certified in mathematics and English as a Second Language instruction for grades 9-12 and is a representative of the Chelsea Teacher’s Union. She earned her BA in Mathematics from Elms College.
