Sherline Joachim is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Michigan Policy Fellow and 5th grade teacher leader at Paul Robeson Malcolm X Academy in Detroit. She supports K-8 teachers and students in English language arts, focusing on pushing students toward reading proficiency. Sherline serves as a mentor teacher and Building Assessment Coordinator. She previously worked as an English language coordinator for multilingual learners and a tutoring/Saturday school coordinator. Honored with the Village Award (2021–2022) for pandemic support, Sherline began her career in 2006 and has taught in Christian, charter, and public schools across Miami and Detroit. She earned a BS in elementary education from Florida Memorial University, MS in international relations from Seton Hall University, and is pursuing an EdD in organizational leadership at National University.
