John Rodriguez teaches English for the Communication and Technology School at Diego Rivera Learning Complex, in Los Angeles. He also serves as his pilot school’s theme team leader to help integrate media and technical literacy into the curriculum. John came to teaching from an advertising and media background and uses that experience to enrich his instruction. He served as advisor to the Journalism and Yearbook classes for several years, and was part of journalism advisor group sponsored by the California Journalism Education Coalition. John found more community support for his classroom with DonorsChoose and a class writing project with 826LA. He earned a BA in Communications from California State University, Fullerton.
