Sontreka Johnson is a 2025–2026 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellow and 9th-grade Algebra I teacher at Bryant Jr. High School in Bryant, Arkansas. She leads the 9th-grade math professional learning team and coaches the freshman girls’ basketball team. Previously, Sontreka served as math department chair and freshman academy initiative lead. She was the Bryant Junior High Teacher of the Year (2021), recognized as an Arkansas Amazing Educator by AY Magazine (2019), and has presented at national and state education conferences. Sontreka serves as an Arkansas Leadership Academy Fellow and Apple Learning Coach. She earned a BS in banking, finance, and corporate finance from Arkansas State University, an MEd in middle childhood education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, a Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University, and is pursuing an EdD in assessment, learning, and student success from Middle Tennessee State University.
