JoLisa Hoover is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Texas Senior Policy Fellow. JoLisa teaches 4th grade at Reed Elementary in Leander ISD in Cedar Park, where she is on the campus-based decision making committee and lighthouse team. She was a 2008 and 2014 Classroom Teaching Ambassador Fellow and worked to provide overall team coordination and alumni engagement as a 2015 Washington Fellow. She was a semifinalist for the 2013 HEB Excellence in Education Lifetime Achievement Award and the recipient of the 2012 Spirit of McMurry award, given to McMurry University alumni who have excelled in their profession and served their community. JoLisa was the 2005 Houston regional winner of the HEB Excellence in Education Award in the leadership category for elementary school teachers. She earned her BA in multidisciplinary studies III from McMurry University in Abilene, TX and a MA in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University with an endorsement in gifted and talented education.
