José Manuel Rodríguez is an ESL teacher at Pleasant Hill Elementary in Leander and a co-author of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards’ Middle Childhood Generalist Standards Third Edition (2012). He is a former U.S. Department of Education Washington Teaching Ambassador Fellow and has collaborated with the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, National Education Association, U.S. Department of Treasury, Chegg, American Forests, and The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to create curricula, teaching materials, articles, and reports. José received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps. He earned his B.A. in Government from Pan American University in Edinburgh, Texas and a Master’s degree from the Lyndon Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.
