Joshua Michael is a Teach Plus Maryland Teaching Policy Fellow. He teaches 7th grade math at The Commodore John Rodgers School, where he also coaches lacrosse and sponsors the Math Counts team. Josh is a district math representative for Commodore and also writes curriculum and facilitates professional development for the Teaching and Learning Office. At Commodore, he supports partnership efforts at the school, including the establishment of The Commodore to College Project, leveraging regional resources to expand high school and college opportunities for students and families. Josh previously taught at Booker T. Washington Middle School. He served as a student member of the Maryland State Board of Education, University System of Maryland Board of Regents, and Maryland Higher Education Commission. He graduated from the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC) with a BA in political science and a certificate in secondary education, and received his MSEd in school administration and supervision from the John Hopkins University.
