Julie L Metcalf is an English language teacher in Indiana’s largest urban school district, Indianapolis Public Schools. Julie has served on various collaborative problem-solving and goal-setting teams, instructional leadership teams, and a school culture team. She is a member of a departmental compliance team and the team of district English Language teachers which focuses on staff training and implementation around the newly-adopted Indiana English language standards and assessment. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Julie serves as an ambassador for the school during arrival and dismissal times, and in the hallways between classes. Julie has taught students in grades K – 6, and holds a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) which she earned in Bangkok, Thailand via Cambridge University. She graduated from IUPUI with a BS in Elementary Education.
