Kristyn Kahalehoe

Kristyn Kahalehoe is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow. Kristyn is a kindergarten teacher at D. Newlin Fell Elementary School in Philadelphia. She focuses on early literacy development and foundational skills in order for all children to have continuous equitable access to reading. Kristyn began her teaching career in a Pennsylvania childcare setting as a pre-k teacher and has since taught pre-k and kindergarten in various school settings in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Kristyn presented on adding multi-sensory practices to Tier 1 phonics instruction at the Winter Institute Food for Thought event for the New Jersey chapter of the International Dyslexia Association. She earned her BA in elementary education from The College of New Jersey and an Orton Gillingham teacher certification from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
