Karin Kroener-Valdivia is a Teach Plus California Teaching Policy Fellow. She teaches 10th and 12th grade English at Hollywood High School’s New Media Academy in Los Angeles. Karin has taught at LAUSD since 1998 and has held quasi-administrative roles at several schools, including bilingual coordinator, SLC lead, BTSA support provider, instructional leadership team member and Linked Learning lead teacher. Karin has spent a year at the district office and has worked as a program coordinator for the Linked Learning Office. She is National Board Certified teacher and, while at the district level, was on a grant writing team that helped secure $22 million in grant funding for Linked Learning schools. She received a BSBA from University of Arizona and an MA in Child Development, with a specialization in Bi-Cultural Development, from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena.
