Karina Gensicke is a 2018-19 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow. Karina teaches 3rd grade at Franklin Avenue Elementary in Los Angeles, where she is the test site coordinator of the school’s Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) overseeing the implementation of the testing for grades 3-5. She is a member of a public school choice review team, academic planning committee, and is a problem support team coordinator. Karina graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a BA in Liberal Studies, and a minor in Women & Gender Studies. She received her MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Azusa Pacific University.
