Tanya Karner is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and 9-12th Grade Assistant Superintendent for Student Services for Antioch Community High School District 117 in Antioch, Illinois. As Director of Special Education, she supports students’ diverse learning needs. Tanya was named a Loyola University Chicago distinguished alumni (2025). Tanya is an adjunct instructor at the university, supporting graduate students seeking to become special education directors. Tanya earned a BS in elementary education, MS in special education, MS in educational leadership, and EdD in administration and supervision.
