Kathryn Downen is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow and a ninth-grade Cyber Foundations teacher at the Canton Ninth Grade Academy in Canton. Kathryn is serving her second year on the Academic Leadership team and is a member of the CPSD Instructional Technology Task Force and former member of the Mississippi Teacher Advisory Board. Kathryn was named Teacher of the Month and founded a Keystone Speaker Circuit in the 2020-21 school year, bringing professionals from across the nation virtually to her campus. She earned a BS in Business Management and International Relations from Guilford College and an MBA in Global Management and Finance from the University of Phoenix. She is currently pursuing an EdD in Educational Leadership at Belhaven University.
