Katie Kaplan teaches 2nd and 3rd grade English Language Arts at Bodine School, where she also sponsors the school’s soccer team. Katie specializes in teaching the Orton Gillingham multisensory learning approach to teaching and writing. She is a 2013 Teach For America-Memphis alumna and previously taught 1st and 3rd grade at Hawkins Mill Elementary School, where she served as a lead literacy teacher and grade-level chair. Katie graduated from Appalachian State University with a BS in Elementary Education.
