Ethan Kaufman is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow and 8th grade social studies, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Excel, and multilingual scholar success teacher at Twin Peaks Middle School in Poway, California. He is a leader on the Multi-Tiered System of Supports team and an AVID team leader. Ethan has served as head volleyball coach, founder and advisor for the first middle school speech and debate course and club in his district, California Junior Scholarship Federation advisor, district leader for education technology implementation, and an educator for students with special needs during extended school year. He is the Poway Federation of Teachers site representative and president-elect of the Texas Exes alumni chapter in San Diego. Ethan earned a BA in government from the University of Texas at Austin and MEd in education in a global context from National University.
