Kelly Day is a Teach Plus Indiana Teaching Policy Fellow. She is a 7th grade math teacher at Westfield Middle School in Westfield, Indiana. Kelly received the Fulbright Distinguished Award in teaching for the 2014-15 school year; this allowed her to spend five months living in Helsinki, where she researched Finnish education policy and female achievement in mathematics. While in Finland, she wrote an article on Finnish education that was published in education journals in Australia and South Korea. In the fall of 2015, Kelly was selected to be one of four panelists to participate in the Fulbright Minds Series celebrating International Education Week in San Francisco, CA. In 2013, Kelly received an Eli Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Grant, which funded her independent research on Asian education systems and allowed her to observe schools and conduct interviews and educational research in seven different Asian nations. Kelly received her BS in Mathematics Education from Indiana Wesleyan University and an MA in Education Administration from Purdue University.
