Kiah Duncan is a Teach Plus Illinois Teaching Policy Fellow. Kiah teaches 4th grade at Holmes Elementary School in Harvey, in the community where she grew up. She serves as a positive behavior mentor, is the chairperson of the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support committee (PBIS), and is an active member of the district curriculum planning and design team. Kiah has previously taught 1st and 2nd grade at Washington Elementary School and Burr Oak Academy. She is a member of the Alpha Upsilon Alpha Literacy Honor Society and the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education. She graduated from Illinois State University in Bloomington – Normal with a BS in Elementary Education and received her MA in Reading from Saint Xavier University in Chicago.
