Dhana King is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Belonging, Empowerment, and Mentorship Network Facilitator. She is a 2nd grade English language arts teacher and K–2 Instructional Team Leader at Pittsburgh Westwood PreK–5 in Pittsburgh. Dhana began her teaching career in 1990 in the childcare setting, joining Pittsburgh Public Schools in 1998. In 2003, she was hired as a Head Start teacher at Northview Elementary School, where she taught preK for 14 years. Dhana is a Teach Plus Pennsylvania Equity Leadership Institute alumna. She believes that every student deserves to be taught by a committed teacher of color, inspiring students while actively contributing to a more diverse, equitable, and just educational landscape. Dhana earned her BEd in early childhood and elementary education from Carlow College and MEd in early childhood education from Carlow University. She is a certified English as a second language teacher.
