Kirby Selle is a Teach Plus Indianapolis Teaching Policy Fellow. Kirby teaches 7th and 8th grade science at Christel House Academy South, where she also serves as the science lead teacher for kindergarten through 12th grades. Kirby joined Christel House in 2008 and has since held a number of leadership roles including Teacher Advancement Program mentor teacher and 6th-8th grade lead teacher. Kirby was named the school’s 2014 Teacher of the Year and senior distinguished teacher in 2015. She has presented at a variety of conferences including the National Forum for Middle Grades Reform, Schools to Watch, and the National Council for Social Studies National Conference. Kirby became a teacher after working in the private sector as an environmental scientist. She graduated from Taylor University with a BS in Environmental Geology, and an MES, and holds an MAT from Marian University.
