Dave Kobel is a 2022-2023 Michigan Collaborative Teacher Leader, and a Secondary Science Teacher and Varsity Wrestling Coach at Wayne Memorial High School. He focuses his coursework on integrations with health education, literacy, and abolitionist practices. Prior to starting with Wayne-Westland Community Schools, Dave worked in multiple school districts and in youth workforce development. Dave was named American School Health Association Dr. Robert Synovitz Emerging Professional (2021); and Association for Education Finance and Policy Pre-Doctoral Fellow (2021). He serves on the American School Health Association Board of Directors, chairing the Committee on Leadership & Recognition and leading the inaugural Youth Advisory Board. Dave holds a BSEd in Biology from Central Michigan University, an MPH in Health Behavior & Health Education, and an MA in Educational Leadership & Policy, both from the University of Michigan.
