Kristin Bolek is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Indiana Teaching Policy Fellow. Kristin is an English as a New Language (ENL) teacher at Avon High School in Avon, Indiana. Her course load includes sheltered English for credit, a Newcomers class, and a College and Career Readiness class for English Language Learners. She served for several years as a professional learning community leader for English 10 and as a member of Avon’s District ENL Steering Committee. She also coached the junior-varsity girls soccer team, served as junior class sponsor, and collaborated as co-chair of the Avon High School Multicultural Fair and Multicultural Club. Kristin was the Avon High School Teacher of the Year for the 2014-2015 school year. She holds a BA in Secondary Education and English from Ball State University, and an MS in Language Education from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis.
