Kristy Sanchez is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow and a 7th grade social studies teacher at W.A. Higgins Middle School in Clarksdale. Kristy serves as the school’s liaison for the Verizon Innovative Learning School Program, as well as the department representative on the Building Leadership Team. Kristy was awarded the Sale Trice Lilly, Sr. INSPIRE Award as well as the Mississippi Teacher Corps (MTC) Andrew P. Mullins Jr. Award from the School of Education at the University of Mississippi. Kristy graduated from the Mississippi Teacher Corps in 2021. She earned her BA in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Florida and an MA in Teaching from the University of Mississippi.
