Anjali Sara Kumar is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow and 10th grade chemistry teacher at Abraham Lincoln High School in San José, California. She advises the Queer Student Alliance and Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) student organizations, and helps lead district efforts to implement a Next Generation Science Standards-aligned chemistry curriculum. Previously, Anjali served as a Statewide Impact Fellow with Leadership for Educational Equity and as an Activate Recruitment Fellow and Operations Specialist with Teach For America. She was named Abraham Lincoln High School’s Educator of the Year (2025) and received the Lion Pride Staff Award (2024). Anjali began her teaching career in California as a 2021 Teach For America corps member. She earned her BS in physiology and neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego, and MEd from National University.
