Alexa Lalejini is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Michigan Policy Fellow and certified school librarian at Rockford High School in Rockford, Michigan. She focuses on creating library spaces that help students cultivate a love of reading and research. Alexa has served as chair of both the Innovative Reading Committee and the Best Digital Tools for Teaching and Learning for the American Association of School Librarians committees. She received the Mary Ann Paulin Award for Reading Advocacy and the Pat Slocum Award for Meritorious Service from the Michigan Association of School Librarians (2024). Alexa is an advocacy co-chair of the Michigan Association for School Librarians. She earned a BA in world literature from The Ohio State University and a master’s in library information science with a school library specialization from Syracuse University.
