Bethea Lane is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Illinois Senior Policy Fellow and a Junior High Instructional Coach in CCSD 15 in Palatine. Bethea has 19 years of classroom experience as a 6th grade teacher and throughout that time has participated in committees and councils related to curriculum development, new teacher mentorship, leadership development, and equity, inclusion and diversity. Bethea is the IEA Region 42 Vice Chair, 2021 NEA delegate, and served as a union representative for the past five years. Bethea holds a BS in Education from DePauw University, an MA in Teaching & Leadership from St. Xavier University, and an ELL Endorsement from National Louis University.
